"I am sad to declare that there are very few Force Powers that I have learned on my own or through Darth Aristo," the sentinel admitted. She went on "Although, I know I have the capability to learn much more if I was presented such an opportunity." Darth Maleine was a little embarrassed to admit that she had focused mainly on lightsaber and melee combat when her forte was in the Force. She clipped her 'saber onto her belt and went to retrieve her rapier as well unless Kalma stopped her.
"That will have to be remedied immediately," Kalma stated bluntly, "Before we continue here's a warning, my young Apprentice. I normally don't let people who draw their weapons on me suddenly live. I spared you because the gap in our skill marked you as no true threat...but I can't guarantee such generosity in future. Now, with that understood, we'll begin with the very basic Force Power of Telekinesis."
With that, Lady Kalma provided a demonstration of the Telekinesis, causing a collection of seven stone blocks (each a meter high by a meter wide) to float out of nearby patches of tall grass and land before Darth Maleine.
"You know how to concentrate in the Force so get to work. You are to stack these seven into a pillar and you are to sit on the final one as you lift it up."
Darth Maleine nodded and shortly replied, "I will remember not to attack you again without being told to do so."
The Cerean could only recalling moving objects with the Force once before but that was out of sheer anger after being told her Jedi master had abandoned her to die. With that memory in mind, the sentinel used all of the hatred she had for her former master and concentrated it onto the first stone block she found and tried to move it on top of the next block she found in the tall grass. Reaching out with the Force was something not to difficult for her, however she had never had the opportunity to use it for telekineses on purpose. If she managed to get the first block she would continue to each block thereafter until there was only one left. With the final block she would move right up beside the tower, maybe a meter away before she walked over to sit upon it.
Aside from a patch of shakiness here and there, Maleine was able to lift the first six blocks with relative ease. The seventh block, of course, was the tricky part of the thing. Her plan to place it as close to the pillar as practical before starting certainly helped but it was still quite challenging. Being careful not to accidentally knock over the stack, the Cerean raised the seventh block, and herself along with it, higher. As it touched down, the pillar wobbled for a fraction of a second before stabilizing. Maleine let out a sigh of relief.
"Alright, not bad," Kalma commented, "Now unstack the blocks starting with the bottom block working up and keeping the upper parts of the stack lifted until you place them down."
"Alright, I believe I can do that," Maleine remarked.
Darth Maleine was barely able to relax her mind before Kalma gave her the second part of the exercise. Taking in a deep breath, the Force sensitive went onto her next task of unstacking the blocks. She concentrated on lifting the entire stack before reaching out for the bottom stone and letting it float away from the pillar of blocks. After the stone was a meter and a half away she allowed it to meet the ground softly. As much as she wanted this to look elegant and effortless, the Cerean did start sweating slightly at the strain on her mind. Splitting her concentration between the two objects was made easier with her Cerean brain and the fact she was gifted favorably in Force. She slowly continued the process, sending the stones out in different directions to encircle her. Once she made it down to the seventh stone, the Sith let it gently fall straight down in the center of the stones.
Getting up from the stone, Maleine brushed the sweat and hair out of her eyes and gave Lady Kalma a small smile. She did little to hide the fact she was exhausted from the travel and from the amount exertion she just used on the Force. Telekinesis put a different type of strain on the body compared to her other powers, she figured she would get used to it in time.
Kalma looked to the man who had brought Maleine here and jerked her head towards a far corner of the courtyard, "Achason, go over there." The man looked perplexed for a moment before shrugging his shoulders and doing as instructed. Once Achason had taken his place Kalma turned to Maleine, "All of this is good exercise for general telekinetic skills but I haven't been on many missions where I had to stack blocks. So now you're going to try something a little more practical. Use Telekinesis to unclip Achason's scabbard from his belt and do it quickly or subtly enough that he doesn't have a chance to grab it before it falls."
The Cerean nodded to her master's request. Being a little bit of a show-off she targeted his scabbard's and its clip, holding onto them with the Force, Darth Maleine turned her head away slightly to look at something off in the thick jungle. She then flicked her wrist, pulling apart on the buckle with the Force, not tearing it but unclipping it. She then grabbed the scabbard before it hit the ground and pulled it away from Achason before dropping it onto the ground. Maleine then looked back at the man to see if her quick movements had done exactly what she wanted.
A slight, bemused laugh from her master told Maleine that she had been successful. As she turned to look she saw Achason grumbling as he picked up his weapon and realized why he had been asked to move.
"Telekinesis has a number of Force Powers based on it," Kalma continued the lesson, "The most immediately useful of these to you is Push/Pull. It's a more vigorous, less precise application of telekinetic power for drawing in or repelling objects and enemies. Now, take position a few meters away from me." Once the Cerean Apprentice had done so, Kalma finished her instructions, "I'm going to hurl things at you and you are to deflect them with Force Pushes. Direct them back at me if possible." Raising her arms, the Witch raised three of the stone blocks and sent them flying at Maleine.
Darth Maleine was ready for such an encounter as her week at the Bast had taught her to always be ready for a fight. She raised her arms and reached out with the Force onto the three stones. The first two she tossed aside like rag dolls while the third stone, the furthest one in the row of stones, she grasped onto it and attempted to reverse its trajectory. Directing the stone back at the Witch.
Maleine was equally successful at deflecting the first two projectiles and redirecting the third back at its source. Her master, however, was easily able to stop the returning stone dead in its trajectory causing it to thud uselessly to the ground. Kalma then raised up four of the stone blocks Maleine had previously been using and sent them flying in stymied succession, and in varying paths, towards the apprentice.
Darth Ares: Don't forget to watch the original Clone Wars by Genndy Tartakovsky though, it's incredible and it's also the only Star Wars media where Grievous isn't a punk bitch
