Maleine stood a few meters from where she had previously been sitting, her mouth slightly ajar as she gawked at the beast, her gaze shifted to Lady Kalma before returning back to the tiger. By the Force, how the blast am I going to move Zinitra?
Realizing how dumb she looked as she stared at Zinitra with her mouth open, she closed it and walked closer to where the beast lied. She laughed to herself at how dumb she must have looked, a small smile creased her lips. Darth Maleine knew that Force sensitives were able to communicate using their minds, she figured it had to be something like that, maybe through emotions and not words.
The apprentice began to channel excitement through the Force and directed it at the tiger.
Feeling a slight tingling from Maleine's efforts Zirnitra perked his head up a little. He then proceeded to roll over on the stone so that his belly faced the sunlight. Wiggling and purring for a while, the tiger then flipped back over and began to flick its tail repeatedly on a trajectory which contacted the Cerean's face.
Maleine stood there channeling the excitement for a few more minutes with no luck. Maybe he'll respond more to a different energy? the Cerean pondered. She switched the emotion to anger, a much easier emotion to vent. She chose anger because it could possibly irritate the tiger and make him try and attack her again. Which in turn would cause Zirnitra to leave the stone. However, she may lose an arm in the process. Oh well, I'm confident in my abilities to not die horribly.
She took a few steps back and began to channel the new emotions towards Zirnitra, thinking primarily about her betrayal. Even she could feel the emotions she was pouring out.
Maleine fed pique then anger then rage then hate into the massive feline's psyche. Grumbling dangerously, Zirnitra sat up on the rock and regarded the Sith Apprentice with narrowed eyes. The cat knew well what it felt like to have foreign emotions put in his head by a Force Senstive, and was aware that she was the source of his current feeling. Raising a paw, Zirnitra clawlessly whacked the Cerean on the side of her head, sending her tumbling. With Maleine's concentration broken the anger stopped and Zirnitra happily curled up on the rock again.
By the Force this is going to be the end of me. Maleine thought as she got back up on her feet and rubbed the side of her head that had been struck. She was still a little frustrated. Her next angle for moving the great beast off the stone was a little more straightforward. She knew not how to speak to the beast. She began to coax Zirnitra towards her. Maleine knelt down and sent the large tiger emotions of longing for more comfort than an uncomfortable stone. Maybe off in the comfortable grass a few meters away.
After a few moments Zirnitra began to squirm uncomfortably. As the tiger rolled on his side, his eyes were drawn to the grass. In it he thought he saw...a thing. Yes, he was quire sure now, that was a thing moving in the grass. Hopping off the rock, the beast began to sniff around the spot but, finding no thing, circled briefly before dropping onto the lawn.
"Well done," Kalma commented, "It's not easy getting that stubborn, lazy creature to do what he doesn't already want. As you've learned here, determining what most motivates a beast is the key to wielding control over it. Now, for the real test. You will go with Zirnitra out into the Null District. You have carefully avoided the wild beasts thus far in your training but now you must confront and learn to master them. Use both the techniques of heightened senses and animal influence you practiced here until you have risen to the natural hierarchy's apex. And, just to make sure you get a proper challenge..." Kalma closed her eyes briefly and concentrated. In response a cacophonous wave of howls and hoots emanated from outside the ruins' walls. "There, now they'll be out and looking for you."
"Thank you Lady Kalma," responded Maleine, she gave a small nod. "I seem a to have knack for manipulating the Force," she commented quietly as she turned towards the forest. "I will be fine out there in the Null District," the Cerean said confidently over her left shoulder. The middle-aged Sith had no doubts in her mind that she would be fine out in the jungle. Her time with Lady Kalma had really supported her self confidence. She called for Zirnitra to follow her, afterall the beast probably knew simple verbal commands. As she walked towards the edge of the clearing of the ruins she looked out at the familiar treetops swaying in the artificial breeze, they were always quite beautiful, however, she had only seen glimpses of the creatures they hid under their dark canopy.
Without looking back she went outside the walls of the ruins and into the the dimly lit jungle floor. She concentrated for a moment to let the Force take over and heighten her senses before she travelled to much further into the dangers of the jungle. She carried on, her ears keen to any alien sound.
With Zirnitra in tow, Maleine instinctively wound her way through the verdant labyrinth of the Null District. In the distance she began to hear dimly the sounds of a struggle. Heading in the direction of the disturbance, the Cerean clung to leafy concealment. In time she came to see the origin of the fracas. There was, in the center of what had once been a road, a crater from some unknown impact or explosion that had over time filled up with rainwater. Amidst the moss-covered asphalt that stretched from this unintentional pond a trio of Acklays were engaged in a squabble over the carcass of a feral Bantha.
Darth Maleine was confident in her abilities, she however. was not too confident in her abilities in influencing all three of the Acklays. Thus, she started pumping primal fear into two of the Acklays intending that they'd run off and leave the other behind. She kept low to her cover behind the leafy plants and observed how the Acklays reacted to her pseudo feelings.

Darth Xaos: I never thought I'd be inspired by a Kylo Ren quote but, "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to. That's the only way to become what you were meant to be," is now my Skype quote.
