Nephelus studied Vanno's counter to his thesis. The implication of sorcery had just escalated this ordeal entirely. Truthfully, he was skeptical about the Alliance not having a part to play in this. Or perhaps he was hoping the Alliance or Jedi were apart of this mess. The Sith seemed to have found purpose in this quest, the addition of sorcery would be most insightful. He was just curious as to what sort of sorcery was implied, his master in death Darth Ruin; would want him to be open minded and take in all of his surroundings. And he would, however this was beyond just Force Magic. The balance of Eshan's politics also played a part in this. The roar of the speeders motor caused his train of thought to disrupt, forcing him to pay attention to the small talk Vanno and Verril were making. "You suggested earlier," Nephelus began to speak, "this could possibly be another attack on our family? What speculation has brought you to that conclusion? Other than the attack on the monastery?"
"Death is the void, and all mortals fear it. And if I am Death, all shall fear me."- Lord Nephelus
"A minor hitch that perhaps they have discovered me, but I do mean to be careful as news channels have reported an aerial view from the monastery a flag with the sigil of your house. I would hope your house would not perpetrate this due to a reason of being swayed by falsified Piraxus information... perhaps," He paused and sighed heavily, "Perhaps I am merely connecting strings where there are none. At times I do this and guess this. My mind never stops working, hell it goes overtime due to my inability to sleep for years due to an infernal parasite." Vanno shakes his head ignoring the insults Malice is throwing at him for that comment. "Apologies... let us just get moving. Stories and connections are for another time. But for now, we are private eye detectives." And with that final comment the overgrown Echani chuckled.
Vanno and Nephelus entered the temple first with Verrill covering their back with his custom slug throwers out and at the ready. As they entered they could see the scorch marks from the blasters that had missed their targets. "Well lets get started looking around just be careful not to disturb anything as we search the area. Are there any special things I should know about burial rights or anything we should stay away from so as to not desecrate the bodies and make them unfit in the eyes of others to be buried?" Verrill asked Vanno as he entered the door.
"The bodies," Vanno looked around the area and sighed heavily as there are some remains scattered, "They will be prepared and given a proper warriors burial by the time the moon rises, but for the time being we should see what we can find. Maybe a clue as to how people this armed and dangerous got passed the main gate without the guard noticing any of them." Vanno slumped as he was a bit distraught by the event, and proceeded to walk around and inspecting ground zero first before heading off to the gate.
Darth Xaos: Talk to ya later, mate.

Darth Strigus: Alright, gotta head out. Nice chatting, though, see you soon

Darth Xaos: I might just check those out. I've definitely never read/watched any murder mysteries with such an unexpected setting.

Darth Strigus: Found it by coincidence, too. A friend found it in a sauna, knew I liked Rome, and gave it to me for secret santa. I started in the middle of series, but they're stand alone, so it's basically fine

Darth Strigus: If you like either one, I'd definitely recommend them.

Darth Strigus: It's called Roma sub Rosa, by Steven Saylor. It's a bunch of murder mysteries that are set in Ancient Rome, so it combined two things I love
Sept 6, 2017 16:41:33 GMT
Darth Xaos: Oh, yeah? What series is it?
Sept 6, 2017 16:40:56 GMT
Darth Strigus: I'm in the middle of a series now, though, so it might be a bit before I start
Sept 6, 2017 16:40:31 GMT
Darth Strigus: I might just go with NuCanon. As much good as I've heard about Thrawn, it'll probably just be hard to keep everything straight going forward
Sept 6, 2017 16:40:14 GMT
Darth Xaos: I'd say start with the books from the '90s since that's where it all began. Unless you'd like to jump right into the NuCanon in which case any of them seems a fine place, I've heard good things about most of them.

Darth Strigus: I've never read any of the Star Wars books, oddly. I'll have to give them a shot. Any starting place you'd recommend?

Darth Xaos: Just finished Dark Disciple and it's given me an itch to read a bunch of the the NuCanon books.
