"Yes, Lord Exolus," Ceryn replied, trying to keep the uncertainty out of her voice. There were so many fighters, so many leaders - too many to pinpoint! But she'd given orders, and now the other AA guns were waiting for more...what was there to do? Her mind whirred furiously, trying to call on any tactical experiences she'd seen or read about.
"AA guns, focus fire on the X-Wings," she commanded with a surety she hoped wasn't misplaced. "Pick off stragglers and help the-spawn!"
With a hasty Force Leap, Ceryn hurtled out of the AA gun's control chair barely a second before a well-placed torpedo slammed into it. She hit the snow hard, leaving a furlough behind as it gave way under her momentum. Cursing again and furious that she had allowed herself to be so distracted, she leaped to her feet and went back to her comm. "Pick off any isolated X-Wings and help the M-Wings take out the others so they can deal with the bombers."
Jumping down into the trenches Lord Exolus' soldiers had carved through the snow, Ceryn set off at a run for another AA gun.

"Shrike 1 to all fighters" Tetrarch said into his comm system "Follow me down to Citadel" he ordered as he pushed his stick forward and dropped rapidly into the planetary atmosphere. His finger stabbed button 1 on his comm system "Shrike 1 to Lord Exolus, am inbound for Citadel with one wing of fighters, request target vector for maximum impact on enemy when I arrive. Also request that you inform the defenders that Shrike 1 is an X-wing class fighter and not too shoot me down." He turned his head to address the R2 unit behind him "Bucket, start scanning for which frequency the enemy are using and when you locate it, try all known enemy encryption codes to see if we can understand what they are saying. If we can inform me immediately"
The M-Wings, despite their notable technical advantages and elite pilots, scrambled madly in the wake of the renewed enemy aggressions. Their potent shields and hulls were being tested to their limits by being caught in such a mass of enemy fighters. As where the abilities of the Razor Squadron pilots, who needed all their focus and reflexes to perform the evasive maneuvers that were keeping them in the fight. Support fire from the base defenses, focused as it was on the hostile X-Wings, combined with Exolus' Battle Meditation to keep the Razors alive. Yet this strategy was largely what the enemy disposition had been chosen for; as the X-Wings took the counter-attack's brunt, bombardment against the base's massive weaponry intensified.
Meanwhile, two waves of reinforcements pierced the atmosphere in a descent crowned by flames. Tetrarch and his fellow starfighter pilots were in the vanguard, swooping towards the besieged CITADEL Base. Behind them were slower moving but no less welcome gunships, which Exolus had ordered down from orbit. As the gunships began to move into firing range, Tetrarch and his companions entered the fray.
Darth Exolus' frustration was palpable. The sight of gunships both skyward, and on his targeting computer put him at slight ease. The complex had its shields lowered to allow the massive Hadrons to fire, and he was weighing his options. Ordering someone back into the base to raise them would perhaps save the giant guns and beckon a ground team inside, thus negating the risk of a strike from space. That would of course leave the naval forces without two sources of support fire. He decided to flip that decicred chit, and raised communications.
"Darth Ceryn. We need to hold the Alliance here a little longer. Take some of your forces inside the base. Head for CITADEL Control, and raise the orbital shield generators. I'll have our engineers talk you through it. Once the shields are raised, evacuate to the sublevel, you'll find an emergency escape tram through the pipelines. I'll have a gunship pick you up."

Tetrarch's eyes moved from his instruments to what he could see in front of his fighter, taking it in. Behind his visor his eyes narrowed "Shrike 1 to all Shrike aircraft, concentrate on the bombers. I repeat concentrate on the bombers" he ordered as he swung the nose of his fighter over and jockeyed to get on the tail of the closet bomber to him
Darth Ares: Don't forget to watch the original Clone Wars by Genndy Tartakovsky though, it's incredible and it's also the only Star Wars media where Grievous isn't a punk bitch
