Imgur's a bitch for transparent pngs of any reasonably-large size. Oh well. Have this grainy as heck picture because imgur likes to do that too. On the left, my previous attempt at Exolus. On the right, my new one currently being made into an avatar. And here's a list of changes.
1. Aging and uneven skintone - This one was one of the bigger pains, keeping his skin textured, and not blurry. Fine lines, wrinkles, age marks, scars, etc. I think I did well.
2. Fixing those bloody face tentacles - They're all good now. All good. They even taper across the raised cheekbones as intended. That said, the cheekbones actually protrude in front of the ears like they're supposed to.
3. They eyes - They were uneven and too mishapen given the perspective. Now they're not. Oo-rah.
4. Some minor darkening of the face, altering the tattoos and generally tweaking the facial features to look more natural.
See you next time when I find some wacky new thing in Photoshop.
That's a pretty good overall improvement. I love the subtle touches making him seem more 3-dimensional - the texturing on his face, the better definition on where his jowls join his cheeks etc. Charting your avatars is a pretty good way to chart your improvement in Photoshop.
