With luck, they wouldn't need the favor of the war god, especially if they were merely exploring ruins. Jyrric was pleased that they had a destination, and doubted Sahruut would double cross them along the way, but he still didn't trust them. As he had thought before, the elder was not truly one of Jyrric's people. Even if the elder was serving his people's best interests- and not just his own personal ones- by serving the Dark Lord, such trust was tenuous at best.
Again, however, Jyrric kept silent. His instincts may have been advising him against Sahruut, but he had no logical reasons to suspect treachery.
"Umohtsijarsa... Head westward from the ruins here. The Jsina still stand as husks. Hours by air. Days by land," informed Sahruut, pointing in a vaguely western direction, "I caution thee. This... Hmm... Sinzûtikû'ija. If you seek to know yourself, and the vurai, do not dwell on what is dead, Jen'ari. Graush'valda is full of it."
Lucifer considered his next action, even as he listened. It mattered not how long it took...days or hours he would find a way to Graush'valda, none and nothing would deter him from his path. Not now he was so close to answers, answers that were long thought of but the Force had before sought to silence.
The Dark Lord replied.
''Days or hours it matters not, I will find Graush'valda. I thank you for your help thus far regardless, know you have made a ally in me and as such if you need help in future simply use this. It is a direct line to me and as such if you need help I will answer within reason. For now my journey here is at an end and another in Graush'valda begins.''
With that Lucifer handed the elder a holographic com-link not too dissimilar from his personal one. It was a direct line to the Dark Lord in case of emergency or help was ever needed.
"If it's days away, we should get a move on soon, master," Jyrric said, speaking for the first time since their meeting with Sahruut. Despite all the help, he still didn't trust the elder, but there was no real alternative. Either they travel to this ruin or they do nothing, after all.
((Sorry for the delay, lads. There was some miscommunication between Exolus and I - I thought he was still going, but in fact he'd finished with his segment and it was my turn to take over.))
Lucifer could only agree with Strigus. The day had drawn on long enough already, and the nights on Ziost were brutal without repose. A westward journey would require them to continue on foot - their Tauntauns likely wouldn't survive the night, but to go back for them and find a safe way back and forward would could take a day by itself. With haste and grateful for the survival packs they had both brought, the Sith began their trek. Lucifer's mind was far from the journey as they hiked; turning inwards, a jigsaw puzzle was fitting itself together in his head, promising answers when complete but maddening him with snippets of memory in the meantime. By the time they made camp, a dozen images that seemed to transpire simultaneously were running through his head, and the Dark Lord was struggling to make sense of them all.
The night was bitterly cold - especially for Massassi, evolved to suit the humid climate of Yavin IV. Without the Force, it was doubtful either would have survived the night - but an impromtu lesson in the power of Tapas kept them alive and free of frostbite, though both Sith shivered as they broke camp in the weak morning light.
((You may both add a rank in Tapas to your bios, for obvious reasons.))
The sunlight only grew weaker throughout the day, as heavy cloud cover gathered. Lucifer felt the blizzard's approach deep within him, some early memory coming back to aid him now, but even with preparation both Sith were caught unprepared by the blinding ferocity of the snowstorm. Lucifer, with his Force Sight, could still perceive; but Strigus, his eyes normal, could barely see, relying more on the strong feeling of his Master in the Force to guide him than any of his regular senses. Buffeted by wind and snow, they struggled on through a mountain pass.
The higher they climbed, the worse the storm became, and the howling winds became fell voices declaring doom. And it was Darth Strigus, unprepared and struggling, that doom came for, as he trod upon a patch of thick snow that simply gave away under his foot. He fell, his screams lost to the wind; Lucifer sensed his panic in the Force, but even his reflexes proved too slow - he spun in time to see him tumbling into the haze below.
Sliced by wind and pounded by snow, Strigus tumbled down the mountain.

Desperately lashing out for a handhold, Jyrric continued to fall, futilely grabbing several handfuls of snow as he toppled downhill. With this failing, he focused the force into his legs, as he would when preparing for a force jump, to take out the brunt of impact as he landed. Then, looking downward, he tried to aim generally for the nearest outcropping that didn't look totally covered in ice, hoping he wouldn't just slide further.
The Dark Lord cursed under his breathe as he felt the blizzard approach and again when he saw Strigus fall down the mountainside. As he turned he cast out a hand in a vain attempt to grip his apprentice with the Force...but it was too late. He was already halfway down the mountain.
Reluctant at first, Lucifer eventually carried on without the young kissai. He had faith the Force would protect him, in his stead. As a result the Dark Lord viewed this circumstance as perhaps a good thing, this would be the perfect test to see if any of his training hadn't fallen on death ears. As such he walked onwards, being ever cautious as a result of what he witnessed.

Wind and cold slicing brutally at his face, Jyrric could barely make out an outcropping rising up below him. Snow-covered rock - firm, but hopefully soft enough to not kill him on impact.
It was - but only barely.
As Jyrric slammed into it, all of the oxygen exploded from his lungs, the blunt-force pain reminding him of some of his nastiest injuries from the arena. But just like those injuries, Jyrric proved stronger - sustaining his heat with the Force, Jyrric lay there gasping until air finally returned to his lungs and he gulped it in. His fall down the mountain finally arrested, Jyrric peered through the white haze around him to try and discern his location - as best he could tell, he had tumbled down perhaps a fifth of the mountain. Not much in relative terms, but without his master and in these deadly conditions, nearly insurmountable. If he pressed on now, he would likely only be courting further disaster.
Returning his gaze to his immediate surroundings, Jyrric spied what seemed to resemble a path cut into the mountain, perhaps half a dozen metres below him - the snow hung off an extended outcrop above it, but the space below was clear. If he could get down there, Jyrric would at least have a safer path to walk on - and if it was indeed a Sith-made rather than a natural formation, it could potentially lead him on through the mountains.
Back at the top, Lucifer pressed on. Survival in this climate came easily to him, and his newly acquired techniques in Tapas, coupled with his incredible stamina and endurance, let him push deeply on. By the time he reckoned the sun was soon to set, Lucifer was through the path and descending again. If he kept pushing now, he could likely make it all the way down the mountain by nightfall - but from the terrain where he was now, steeply rocky with many twists and sharp drops, he might be able to find a cave to take shelter, a possibility he couldn't guarantee at the mountain's base. Even with his legendary toughness, spending the night outside in these conditions would almost certainly be fatal.
On the bright side, Jyrric no longer felt any discomfort in his shoulder from when he had dislocated it earlier. It was hard to note specifically when there was a general pain permeating through his entire body. He just lay there on the outcropping, at first trying to catch his breath. At the start of this little expedition he had found the weather invigorating, but now he hated it, finding it much more difficult to breath in the cold. Once he could breath normally he tried to sit up, regretting it immediately as his body screamed in protest, any numbing effect from the cold vanishing. Still, he knew if he just laid there he'd freeze soon. Looking back up the mountain, it seemed much more daunting than before, perhaps because he had fallen to an even more difficult climb, or perhaps because the ice was so much more apparent now that he had already fallen once.
Seeing the pathway below him, he found the only non-suicidal option. He still used the climbing equipment, but had a new-found distrust of it, so he drew his lightsaber. It would be a slower process, but he decided he would carve holes into the side of the mountain to have more certain holds. Making his first slash through, he was able to reach into the new hold and get a much better grip with his hands, though still depending on the more treacherous icy slope for his footholds. Scaling down, he slowly made his way for the pathway. He tried to ignore the pain throughout his body, hoping less that he wouldn't fall and more that if he did, he would at least be far enough down to make it mostly uninjured.
Darth Xaos: Sure, I'll take a look.

Darth Exolus: Hey Xaos. I'm wondering if you can help me with a fanon article I'm writing. Mind if I message you the details? You're in a unique position to help me with some info I might have wrong.

Darth Reaver: ok, I know i've been promising to post a fanfic for weeks now, but honestly I'm just wiped nearly every day dealing with the maskholes and covidiots who come into the shopping centre I work in. I will get around to posting it soon

Darth Reaver: Sorry for not posting the fanfic last week. RL interfered. Hopefully will be able to do it tommorrow

Darth Exolus: Exolus also became K'mâ-Urûi Âdzâd.
Jan 14, 2021 4:22:26 GMT
Darth Exolus: What took the longest part was renaming all the clans and Sith Lords into as close to Kittat as I could without mental gymnastics. My favorite to rename was Naga Sadow as Nah'w-Agâ Chahjdow.
Jan 14, 2021 4:20:49 GMT
Darth Exolus: There's that fanon article I had cooking for a while up.

Darth Xaos: @ Ares: He always had it. Always. He had an 8-pack in the womb.
Jan 14, 2021 2:08:11 GMT
Darth Xaos: @ Ex: He kills multiple people and I guess it technically doesn't show him burning down the temple since it opens with the temple already ablaze but that's a bit of a technicality.
Jan 14, 2021 2:07:15 GMT
Darth Exolus: Is this the same one where he literally doesn't burn down the Jedi Temple or kill anyone?
Jan 14, 2021 0:56:42 GMT
Ares: Does it show how he got his 8-pack
Jan 13, 2021 22:52:09 GMT
Darth Xaos: Hey, guys, if you haven't read the Rise of Kylo Ren miniseries yet then I highly recommend it. It's short but it's good and is the best look we've had yet at both the Jedi under Luke and the Knights of Ren.
Jan 13, 2021 18:06:29 GMT
Darth Xaos: Lol Allow me to rephrase: a good read.
Jan 13, 2021 0:59:22 GMT
Ares: 'interesting' oh no
Jan 12, 2021 23:18:59 GMT
Darth Xaos: @ Kairos: Interesting read. It feels in many ways like an indirect sequel to the Death of Darth Xaos. I hope you get inspired to do a part 2.
Jan 12, 2021 21:51:44 GMT
Darth Kairos: I wrote something myself set in the old canon. It's pretty silly but I wanted to get it out of my head. Couldn't finish the whole thing so consider it a part 1 if I decide I want to write more.
