"Our apologies, Strigius," Athor feined along with Kairlin. "We would have waited for you if I'd known, but don't let that stop you from sharing now." He winked, smiling fully yet again.
"Any qualms with what we're about to do, here? I'm sure it's not too late to back out if you're scared." His words were half-sincere--this was no game, not even to him--but he felt like he should defend Niamh's honor. There was no shame in considering contingencies.
Aelor moved silently past his comrades-in-arms after receiving his inoculation, fighting his fears. If he could, he would run right down the gangway as fast as his legs and the Force could carry him, but he made the commitment to this mission. As he strode past everyone, he walked to a quieter part of the ship, away from everyone, drawing his sword and testing its keen edge on a piece of preserved hide, unfinished at the same time, he grabbed from a textile shop before coming to the shuttle bay. He began to shave away at the tough leather.
It was boma leather that was purposely left mostly unfinished, requested by Aelor himself. It would help to hone the edge while testing its sharpness, similar to stropping a straight razor. The rendered meat came off the leather like a hot knife through congealed fat or a stick of butter. There was no doubt in the blade, but the wielder's heart trembled as the sword vibrated at its high frequency, a frequency that could ward off the strike of a lightsaber. He was dressed for winter warfare, but he still felt so cold. He had no doubt that his fear could be felt, and it could feed his comrades' power within the Dark Side.
Niamh hesitated for a moment. Neither of them had actually agreed to her request. But, were their places reversed, she'd have said the same thing; more importantly, she'd have held to it. No shambling carcass was going to harm anyone here as long as she lived, and it where Kairlin and Athor were concerned, it seemed it was a mutual feeling. A small, determined smile pulled at the corners of her lips, and she nodded resolutely, placing a hand on their arms and squeezing affectionately. Her last doubts were extinguished as it fully sank in that she was surrounded by family. Real family, not like the vultures on Yashuvhu.
Even Strigus' mockery couldn't dampen her spirit, now. She cast amused glances at her friends as they retorted on her behalf. "Take care of yourself, Strigus," she bade him sincerely.
Post by Darth Nephelus on Jun 5, 2016 12:09:00 GMT
Nephelus took notice of how dire the situation was; the apprentices were fearful and rightfully so. He could understand the fear, but he shared no such feeling. It was impossible for him unless he siphoned, and he wanted to feel what they were feeling. The Sith used the Force to leach the emotion of the others around him, just a bit; just to feel the worry they were feeling. Terror. Regret. Anger. They were all there, and Nephelus shut his eyes and instantly shut off the channel he had created, It was becoming a bit too much, the man made his way over to the Dark Lord, his hand being placed upon Lucifer's pauldron, "My life, for yours," he bowed his head slightly, and turned to approach Aelor. The others had seemed to form some sort of group; one he understood of very well. He, Lord Ares, Lord Vanno, and Lord Xyrafus were often seen together quite a bit. But Aelor seemed distant, worried, and fearful. He felt it, and Aelor couldn't deny it even if he wanted to.
Nephelus slowly walked towards Aelor, his tattered robes flowing wildly like a wraith gliding through the atmosphere. "Use that fear to feed your power, you are strong in emotion all of us here can feel it. That fear will grant you unimaginable powers, but only if you maintain it. Turn it into anger, turn it into rage. Do not allow fear to cloud your judgment. Worry not, I won't allow harm to come to you; or any of you. I have died once already, and I am well aware of how eager Chaos is in accepting new spirits to its realm. This I will not allow."
"Death is the void, and all mortals fear it. And if I am Death, all shall fear me."- Lord Nephelus
Surprised by Niamh's candor- and a bit disappointed, truth be told, at her lack of a cutting remark back- Strigus responded in kind, also noticing no one had directly addressed her wish. "Take care of yourself as well. I'd hate to actually fulfill your request."
He spoke after receiving the antivirus, and while moving toward the weapon crate, taking one of the T-7 Ion Disruptors inside.

Tetrarch's face was invisible under his helmet, but his head did turn towards Kairlin "Never fired one" he replied "It's illegal on most planets and hard to get hold of one. I've heard that one shot from one of these puppies will disable a Scout walker or Starship. Its effects on organic tissue however is meant to be horrific. One shot will cause a slow agonising death as you disintegrate atom by atom. However in order to do this it requires more power than a standard blaster. This results in a slower rate of fire as it takes longer to cool down and recharge between shots."
He strode up the ramp after grudgingly accepting his vaccine shot "Lady Niamh?" he said quietly "If by some mischance you do get infected, I give you my word, you will not end up as a zombie. Lord Reaver had me bring incendiary charges for use on the bodies. Before you rose up, I will cremate your remains, I promise"
Reaver nodded to Nephelous "Yes I noticed. Just proves that they are not complete idiots. Anyone would be scared with what we face." he chuckled slightly "I know it scares me." He turned to Marauder "Tell me did you notice the weapon Aelor Kyr was carrying? A vibrosword. I think he may have missed certain key points during the briefing. No doubt nerves are to blame." he reached into a pocket a pulled out a lightsabre hilt. The one he normally lent to apprentices until they made their own. "I need you to explain to him just why it is a bad idea for him to use a vibrosword on these zombies. Also lend him this lightsabre, you wont have time to teach him how to use it properly, but perhaps you can explain how not to hurt himself or his allies with it. Lets face it he isn't going to need great skill to use it to chop up zombies. I would do it myself, but he's nervous enough without me intimidating him anymore"
A Day Later, Odacer-Faustin system
The Tartan class vessel approached a Victory II class Star Destroyer, which was one of a number of ships blockading the system. Standing on the bridge Reaver accepted a Datapadd from the captain, that contained a report from the senior officer of the Union fleet present. He grimaced as he read it "Weather on the surface is truly abysmal" He informed the gathered Sith "Lord Exolus has sent us some traditional Stygian armour masks for those who don't have a helmet and want one. No Melee shields however, with the power of modern blasters any shields effective against them and small enough to fit in a forearm bracer would give out radiation harmfull to its users health, and the riot shields we had would be too bulky. They are sending a Sentinell class landing craft to dock with this ship, and we will use that for our insertion. On board will be the masks and packs containing airtight polymer bags for use if we find any artifacts. Now remember we should try and engage these zombies from a distance if possible. Hence the disruptors, but also don't think you will hit one and it will immediately drop. These do not feel pain, they will keep advancing until they finally disintegrate. If at all possible go for a head shot. One the cranium is destroyed the Zombies will drop. Fire, Force lightning and lightsabres are other weapons that work. Crushing them also works. Once a Zombie is down it is still highly infectious. Hence Tetrarch and his incendiarys. We will burn the bodies to prevent future contamination. People intelligence tells us these things are slow, the fastest they can go is a sort of half run shuffle. We can outrun them. We should be able to keep tham at a distance. Try not to get yourself stuck in a confined area where we lose that advantage."
He looked around them once "Very well. The Landing craft will dock in 15 minutes at the main hatch. I will see you all there" He handed the datapadd back to the captain then exited the bridge
Aelor looked to Nephelus and shook his head. "I have died as well," he said, remembering the very drastic lesson he essentially forced upon his Master in an angsty and unnecessary fit of bravado. "I know the sting and the stagnant, fetid sensation of nothingness. I refuse to repeat the experience, and undeath is the extreme worst-case scenario out of it, as I'm sure you would agree." It was then that Nephelus handed him the apprentice's lightsaber. He inspected it as he sheathes his own blade. "Thank you."
As they began their approach, Aelor got up and walked over to Darth Reaver. "A word, my Lord?" he said, humbly referring to Reaver. He drew the lightsaber from his belt, igniting the silver blade. Of course, he held it away from himself and Reaver. "I thank you for the loan of this weapon, and I have had experience with a lightsaber, thanks to Lord Exolus, my Master, loaning me his old lightsaber, so you needn't worry about technique while clubbing mostly-mindless monsters, but I hope to be a little more useful with my blaster, as I am more skilled with it. I did not bring a lightsaber because I have not reached the level to build my own; I do apologize for disobeying orders by bringing my vibrosword instead."
Post by Darth Nephelus on Jun 7, 2016 23:00:32 GMT
Nephelus' eyes followed Aelor as he made his way to the firmly standing Lord Reaver. "Blasters are so uncivilized," Nephelus' monotone voice crept out louder than usual. His mask normally muffled his voice, forcing him to speak louder. The ship provided the perfect acoustics, enabling the Sith's voice to become louder and travel a greater distance. "Pardon my intrusion Lord Reaver, allow me a moment of say. Aelor a lightsaber is just as crucial to a Sith as the Force is. Blasters come and go, but the bond you create with your weapon is forever. I would suggest you at least humor Lord Reaver with attempting to use the weapon; he did after all entrust you with the weapon. He could have allowed you to fight with that useless vibrosword like I would have."
Nephelus chuckled a bit, "I urge you to use that fear and channel that through your blades movements. I hope for your sake I don't have to drive that through you myself. Waste of a good Sith that would be."
"Death is the void, and all mortals fear it. And if I am Death, all shall fear me."- Lord Nephelus
Darth Xaos: Sure, I'll take a look.
Jan 26, 2021 17:29:22 GMT
Darth Exolus: Hey Xaos. I'm wondering if you can help me with a fanon article I'm writing. Mind if I message you the details? You're in a unique position to help me with some info I might have wrong.
Jan 26, 2021 4:34:28 GMT
Darth Reaver: ok, I know i've been promising to post a fanfic for weeks now, but honestly I'm just wiped nearly every day dealing with the maskholes and covidiots who come into the shopping centre I work in. I will get around to posting it soon
Jan 24, 2021 14:20:26 GMT
Darth Reaver: Sorry for not posting the fanfic last week. RL interfered. Hopefully will be able to do it tommorrow
Jan 22, 2021 17:34:22 GMT
Darth Exolus: Exolus also became K'mâ-Urûi Âdzâd.
Jan 14, 2021 4:22:26 GMT
Darth Exolus: What took the longest part was renaming all the clans and Sith Lords into as close to Kittat as I could without mental gymnastics. My favorite to rename was Naga Sadow as Nah'w-Agâ Chahjdow.
Jan 14, 2021 4:20:49 GMT
Darth Exolus: There's that fanon article I had cooking for a while up.
Jan 14, 2021 4:10:36 GMT
Darth Xaos: @ Ares: He always had it. Always. He had an 8-pack in the womb.
Jan 14, 2021 2:08:11 GMT
Darth Xaos: @ Ex: He kills multiple people and I guess it technically doesn't show him burning down the temple since it opens with the temple already ablaze but that's a bit of a technicality.
Jan 14, 2021 2:07:15 GMT
Darth Exolus: Is this the same one where he literally doesn't burn down the Jedi Temple or kill anyone?
Jan 14, 2021 0:56:42 GMT
Ares: Does it show how he got his 8-pack
Jan 13, 2021 22:52:09 GMT
Darth Xaos: Hey, guys, if you haven't read the Rise of Kylo Ren miniseries yet then I highly recommend it. It's short but it's good and is the best look we've had yet at both the Jedi under Luke and the Knights of Ren.
Jan 13, 2021 18:06:29 GMT
Darth Xaos: Lol Allow me to rephrase: a good read.
Jan 13, 2021 0:59:22 GMT
Ares: 'interesting' oh no
Jan 12, 2021 23:18:59 GMT
Darth Xaos: @ Kairos: Interesting read. It feels in many ways like an indirect sequel to the Death of Darth Xaos. I hope you get inspired to do a part 2.
Jan 12, 2021 21:51:44 GMT
Darth Kairos: I wrote something myself set in the old canon. It's pretty silly but I wanted to get it out of my head. Couldn't finish the whole thing so consider it a part 1 if I decide I want to write more.
